Wound Care

Liz has practiced as a registered nurse for more than 30 years, specialising in wound management in the acute, sub acute, and community sectors at Counties Manukau District Health Board, Auckland District Health Board, and with several private nursing providers in New Zealand.

Today, Liz works as a clinical charge nurse for a large District Health Board in the Auckland region. She is a registered nurse with the New Zealand Nursing Council and an active member of the NZ Wound Care Society, and Skin Tear Education Working Party.

Liz provides wound care education and support both locally and internationally. With the support of Atlas Trust, she regularly travels to Fiji, Samoa and Tonga to support clinical teams and patients in need.

Liz holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Nursing, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education.

She presents at major conferences on wound management, and regularly authors articles for Nursing Review. Liz is passionate about encouraging wound management excellence, in particular, promoting evidence-based wound care in partnership with individual patient needs.
